Ashwin to captain KXIP in IPL 2018

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will lead Kings XI Punjab 2018 in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2018). This 31-year-old- Indian bowler spoke after taking this responsibility that he believes in miracle, not in traditional way.

Punjab team director and mentor Virendra Sehwag was present when the name of the captain was declared on Monday. This former Indian opener told that at the time of selection three names were in consideration, one is R. Ashwin, second is Dinesh Karthik and Yuvraj Singh. Considering the age of Yuvi and for future development, the captaincy was given to this Tamil spinner.

In a social media, Sehwag chatted with Ashwin and told that he is always in favor of bowler captain, just like Kapil Dev and Wasim Akram. He also expects that Ashwin will get success in eleventh IPL in the same manner. He appreciates this off-spinner due to his smartness in cricket and includes that he has the vast knowledge of understanding T20 format.  Sehwag informs that in this IPL there will be new plans and to accomplish this game plan and Ashwin was the first choice.

Ashwin also wants to create different magic to satisfy the game plan. He told, “We have other alternatives. But can say one thing that, we won’t walk the same route. We will try to show different magic.” The 16-year-old- Afghanistan off-spinner Mujib Jordan will be presented for Punjab miracle.

Ashwin told about the pressure after getting this leadership in the official team website, “There is no question of pressure. I was in just 21 when I got the first captaincy at the state level. I did it earlier and will do it again. I don’t have any problem, rather I feel proud to achieve this leadership.”

The opinion of Ashwin regarding the presence of senior cricketer like Yuvraj is, “I will take a suggestion from Yuvraj Paji when I wish. I know our supporter will enjoy Yuvi’s batting storm.”

So this is the high time for this off-spinner to take revenge in this eleventh IPL. Now he has also started leg spin bowling. It is surprising news for upcoming IPL, 2018. Ashwin told some days ago, “I have learned leg spin by heavy practice. I want to bring new X-factors in my bowling style. Bowlers can face a problem if there is no specialty in bowling format. ”

So, all cricket enthusiasts and the supporters of Kings XI Punjab 2018 will wait whether Ashwin can change the fortune of KXIP or not.
